The Team
Introducing your team
Nicholas Samuel pg.Dip(Dist) MARLA MNAEA
Managing Director
After gaining industry experience at Bristol & West Property Services, I bought and renovated some dilapidated properties in and around South Devon and personally managed their letting. This gave me valuable personal understanding of the buying and letting process.
In 1997, I relocated to London working in the City in commercial IT management. I also continued with property management and advising new build investors gave me the opportunity to open our first branch in Colliers Wood, South West London.
Today I am delighted to work with a dedicated and committed team of talented individuals. We have superb clients which makes me even more determined to maintain our personal and professional service as the business expands.
Paul Ahearn
Operations Director
I moved to the UK from Zimbabwe back in 2003. My business career began at Ernst & Young in accountancy and continued in the advertising industry at Bartle, Bogle, Hegarty.
The last property I rented happened to be through Samuel Estates. A year later the company was expanding and I was keen for a new challenge and opportunity so I approached Nick and offered my services to help run and develop the business. I joined Samuel Estates in April 2007 and have not looked back. It is long hours but so exciting in looking after our clients and meeting so many great people. We are keen to grow the business and it was definitely a proud moment when we took over Purser & Co. in Balham and re-launched it to become our second Samuel Estates office.
Scott Kelly
Sales Director
Since entering the Real Estate industry in the year 2000 on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia, my career path in the industry has taken me full circle.
Entering the industry as a trainee Sales Negotiator, I became a Senior Sales Negotiator within a short period of time and after gaining full tertiary and License qualifications this eventually led to acquiring and managing my own office.
After a successful stint where the office enjoyed great success, my path changed to becoming Sales Manager of a start up Real Estate office, managing and mentoring a team of 8 Sales Negotiators in the competitive region of central Gold Coast.
Having a burning desire to see and experience a different part of the world, my life and career path took me to London joining Samuel Estates as Sales Director, where I am currently delighted to work with a dedicated team focused and intent on serving our clients as our main priority.
Frikkie Buitendag
Property Manager
Before relocating to the UK in 2003, I worked in the Hotel & Hospitality industry in South Africa.
Over here, I quickly realised property was an area that interested me and started out by managing my friends' properties whilst they were overseas. I joined Samuel Estates in the summer of 2007 as the Property Manager.
Connie Ahearn
Office Manager
Born and educated Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). I spent many happy years working in the Hotel and Catering Industry.
In 2005, we immigrated to the UK. I joined Samuel Estates in 2007. From my years of experience and having met and worked with people from all walks of life, being courteous, friendly and caring is one of the most important aspects a business can offer.
Mark Bainbridge MARLA
Sales & Lettings Consultant
I am now in my thrid year at Samuel Estates. I joined originally on the Finance operation but I quickly discovered a love for lettings and was offered a new role. During this time and with the continued support from the Samuel Estates team, I have studied and passed the ARLA Technical Award - the youngest person in the country to ever do so at the time.
The passion I have for our clients shows through in my day-to-day work and at Samuel Estates, we always strive to go the extra mile for our clients whether, Landlord or Tenant, Vendor or Buyer. This is what I believe sets us aside so much from other agents in the area and I am even more excited after moving into our Balham & Clapham office that we opened last year in 2009.
Robert Daley
Lettings Consultant
I finished my degree studies in 2009, right in the heart of recession, and took a temporary administration role with a construction company.
It was during this period that I had an interview with Samuel Estates and was taken in by the company's dedication to their clients, friendly atmosphere and professionalism. When I received the offer to join the team I jumped at the chance to work in such a dynamic environment and plan to learn all I can about the property industry.
Angela Bartiromo
Property Administrator
I returned to work in 2010 after a seven year career break to have my children and although I thoroughly enjoy being a mum, I now feel I can dedicate some time to progressing back in my career.
I worked for one of the largest providers of serviced office space for over five years, managing front of house and being trained in telecoms and IT, and also dealing with day-to-day building maintenance issues.
Now working for Samuel Estates in such a friendly environment. No day seems to be the same and I enjoy the various daily challenges, meeting people from all walks of life and continually learning more about the property industry.

Natalie Jacobs
Property Administrator
I joined Samuel Estates after they took over the entire lettings portfolio from my previous employers Hooper Jackson, who were based in Streatham. I am delighted that Samuels have seen in me strong qualities that they felt I would be an asset to joining the team.
Originally from a Retail Management background, I began working in property on a part time basis. Enjoying the constant changes within the property sector I chose to peruse this field on a full time basis.
After six years working in lettings I have gained solid experience as a Senior Lettings Consultant and a Property Manager.
I am thoroughly enjoying working for such a forward thinking company that is truly dedicated to giving a personal and professional service.
Agata Burdzy
Administrator (part time)
I completed my Media degree in June 2010. During the week I work as an administrator in the UCL hospital in the city and I have now joined the Samuel Estates Team and work with them on the weekends.
I thrive in busy environments and Samuel Estates have given me the chance to develop my skills. I look forward to taking on the many new challenges and learn more about this exciting industry.
Nanda Lindsay
I work as a teacher at a local school and, for the last three years, have also worked Saturdays and during the school holidaypart-time at the Samuel Estates Balham office. Working with such a friendly, dedicated team of people has helped enhance my customer service skills in the business world. I have been able help ensure that we meet our clients needs efficiently and effectively. I look forward to developing my role here and continue to learn about all areas of this friendly and supportive business.

Before relocating to London I worked as a Quality Monitoring Manager for AA Insurance Services Ltd. This role was key to my personal development and gave me a thorough understanding of the importance of excellent customer service, compliance, staff management and resourcing.
Having moved to London to be with my partner I decided this was the perfect opportunity to pursue my passion in property and begin my career with a reputable company.
Samuel Estates were the perfect choice for me as they epitomise all of the key values and opportunities I was looking for. At Samuel Estates the importance lies in customer service and providing the personal touch which inspires both passion and individuality. -

Having recently joined the Samuel Estates team under an Apprenticeship, I have moved from strength to strength. Working in such a dynamic environment has helped me develop my skills exponentially and pursue my interest in the property industry.
After only a few months within the company, I have begun dealing with all aspects of a tenancy and am looking forward to beginning my ARLA Technical Award. The Samuel Estates team has continued to support my development and have taught to me to adopt the ethos strive for the best without compromising on quality, a phrase which I feel sets us aside from other agencies.
I am now looking forward to the challenges of the coming year and am keen to gain as much experience as I can from the Samuel Estates team. -
